Rebranding as SkyPilot
Hi!
We’re rebranding (once again) as SkyPilot as we want to focus more on the general aviation sector. Therefore, SkyPilot is a unique name which we think fits really good and doesn’t sound as “boring” as InFlightApps :)
In addition, we changed the name of our Pacific GPS info app to SkyPilot - GPS Dashboard.
To celebrate our rebranding, we’ll shortly release a new SkyPilot update which wasn’t the case for the last 12 months - so, yes we’re back!
Check back soon for news on updates!
All the best,
Christoph
Announcing Pacific GPS Location Dashboard 4
Pacific exists for more than 7 years and it was about time for a major overhaul and improvements. So today I’m very happy to announce that Pacific GPS Location Dashboard version 4 is almost ready. Version 4 features a redesigned dashboard view which is more clear and looks a lot better when dark mode is enabled. Additionally, we’ve added a new way to edit the dashboard which is easier and faster. Furthermore, the codebase has been rewritten and is more efficient than before.
Just take a look.
We’ll soon follow up with a detailed overview about what has changed.

SkyPilot 4 Roadmap
Since the launch of SkyPilot in 2014 the app has made a lot of progress and gained more and more features, tough there is always more. So, we’re currently working on adding new features while we maintain and enhance the current features.
Which features are currently planned for SkyPilot 4:
The logbook will gain a new pilot name field and an option to add a second pilot where you can select the option for a multi pilot flight. Furthermore, the statistics tab will finally get customization options and more statistics like the SE, ME time, IFR time, VFR time, where you can choose between the total time, in the last 180 days, in the last 90 days and in the last month. Additionally, the notes and remarks will get a more powerful text editing keyboard.
Since the most requested feature is import & export, we’re also working hard on making imports from other apps, csv or excel tables as easy as possible. Next, the export options - with SkyPilot 4 you will be able to export to PDF, CSV or Excel.
Last but not least, we’re improving our iCloud sync engine and updating our codebase to make SkyPilot a lot faster and better prepared for future features.
That’s it for now - this is a first look of what’s to come.
We hope you’re as excited as we are!

SkyPilot 3.4 - a design update
Hi there, today we released SkyPilot 3.4 for both macOS and iOS. The update adds more color, which makes SkyPilot look way more beautiful than before. Additionally, the dark mode has been slightly reworked as well by changing the flight row colors. On macOS we are also introducing keyboard shortcuts. ⌘+N is a new way to create a new logbook entry. More keyboard shortcuts are definitely planned for the future. Furthermore, we are currently reworking the import feature which will be available soon. The new import feature also makes it easy to import flights from other apps. We also update the current import guide on how to import flights with the current version.
In addition, the stats view will also gain new features soon, which will let the user customize the view to fit their needs.
The update is available today for free. We would really appreciate it when you leave a review on the App Store!
All the best,
Christoph
Redesigning the CyanicSpace Homepage
We start the year 2021 right off with a new design of our homepage. It’s more clean and got a color pimp which lets it look not as white as it was before.
In 2021 a lot is going to happen regarding our products. SkyPilot 3 will soon get a little design overhaul and an advanced import feature. Additionally, a summarized flights feature is also in development. (You can see more information at SkyPilot.flights!
Pacific GPS Location Dashboard is currently in the process of rewriting to make it more efficient and easier to use. We’re also looking forward to update the widgets in order to support iOS 14.
There is a lot to come this year. We’re excited!
All the best,
Christoph
Happy New Year! We’re looking forward to 2021!
Hi everyone!
2020 has been a good year for SkyPilot. We launched version 3 and brought SkyPilot to the Mac. SkyPilot also introduced iCloud synchronization which makes managing your logbook a lot easier on iPhone, iPad and your Mac. Additionally, we added an import feature which makes importing a bunch of flights very easy. An updated import module is already in the works and will be available in early 2021. Additionally, SkyPilot will soon gain more color - the “blue” theme is coming back. (look for some early screenshots on social media)
Besides the overhaul, SkyPilot 3 also gained much more new users than in the year before - which makes us really happy!
We wish you a happy new year! There is a lot to come - stay tuned! 🚀
All the best, Christoph & the CyanicSpace Team
SkyPilot 3.2 with Import/Export
Exporting & Importing existing logbook data is now available!
A long-time requested feature is now available. There are now two options to export your logbook data as a CSV file; first, the “beautiful” one, which is more readable since the date & time formatting is adjusted. Second, the logbook database backup which is the way we store your data within SkyPilot. This option can be used to generate backups of your logbook which can be imported later on.
Additionally, it is possible to import existing logbook data as an CSV file. Please note that the CSV file needs following order / time and date formats:
CSV Backup file
Detailed information
Date format which is used in the following fields: takeoff time, landing time & date
yyyy-dd-MM HH:mm:ss Z (example: 2020-28-03 23:33:00 +0100)
IFR and Night fields store the total time in seconds (0 means no ifr or night time).
The pilot in command (PIC) field uses: 1 = true, 0 = false
Following aircraft type options are available:

Airplane, Multi Engine Land
Rotorcraft

Adding, viewing and deleting logbook and aircraft entries
Not included at the moment:
Editing logbook and aircraft entries

Pilot in Command / IFR / Night features
Stats tab
Not all settings do work / are implemented
This is an early beta build; if you need more functionality please wait for upcoming beta versions.
How to get in the SkyPilot 3 Beta?
You can sign-up via this link on a mobile device (please note that you need TestFlight installed in order to participate).
Please make sure that you have a backup of the logbook data, as this is a beta release which can lead to a complete loss of data.
SkyPilot 3 is almost here!
We announced SkyPilot 3 years ago with the intention to add more logbook features and synchronization. I am very happy to tell you that SkyPilot 3 will be available soon. We’re still working on final touches for the beta, though we expect to release it to the public in the coming months.
Update 12th May 2020: We’re finally switching to an upgrade model which needs a one-time in-app purchase to remove the limitation of 30 logbook entries.
The second most asked question was about synchronization. It took us quite long to choose the “right” service and finally we decided to use iCloud, as it is set up on almost every device and is easy to use for customers. Additionally, iCloud is available on the Mac too, and with Catalyst it’s quite easy to make SkyPilot 3 also available on macOS.
We hope you are as excited as we are!
We’ll be back soon with more updates. In the meantime you can sign-up for the SkyPilot newsletter below.
2015 - Year in Review
As the end of the year is coming closer every day, we want to thank you all for using our app and wish you nice Christmas holidays in advance!
The past year was very successful for us at CyanicSpace: with SkyPilot we released one new product and several updates for our most successful application, SkyWidgets (soon Pacific).
As we announced in an earlier posting, we are working on an update for SkyPilot, which we unfortunately couldn’t release yet, but we hope to finish it soon.
We are particularly happy about the development of SkyWidgets, as we are proud to have over 30 000 users in total. Therefore, and to keep increasing this number, we released a few updates like the Dashboard, the watch extension and some new widgets. As you might know if you read our last posting we will change the name of SkyWidgets and call the new version Pacific instead. This improved application featuring a couple of new widgets and functions will be available for 0,99$, but there will also be an In-App purchase for 1,99$ which unlocks all pro features, for example themes. All upcoming pro features are included within the In-App purchase.
Even though most of the work for Pacific is already done we are not totally finished yet, and we are still looking for beta testers. We would really appreciate your feedback! (:
Merry Christmas!
Welcome to CyanicSpace
Yes it´’s true! Developing.io will no longer exist, as we are changing the name to CyanicSpace. Don't worry, of course we will still provide you with full support for our earlier products.
There is still a lot of work to do until we can actually bring CyanicSpace to life, but we hope to be able to launch it later this year. If you are interested in our newsletter to stay informed about our most recent progress, please sign up for it at CyanicSpace.com!
